If you leave a comment, we collect your name, email address, optional website, your IP address, and browser details. The email is never shown publicly — it is used to check for spam and, if you have a Gravatar account, to load your profile photo. Your name and comment are visible once approved.
Contact form
When you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email, and message. We use this only to reply to you. We do not store it anywhere beyond the email thread it creates.
Cookies
If you leave a comment and choose to save your details for next time, your name, email, and website are stored in a cookie for one year. If you have an account and log in, a temporary login cookie is set — it contains no personal data and clears when you close your browser.
Analytics
We look at basic, anonymised traffic data to understand which stories people are reading. Nothing is tied to you personally.
Embedded content
Some posts include embedded videos or social media content. These work exactly as if you had visited those sites directly — they may collect their own data under their own policies.
How long we keep it
Comments stay on the site indefinitely as part of the public conversation. Contact form submissions exist only in our email inbox and are not stored in the website database. If you have a registered account, your data stays until you ask us to delete it.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not send marketing emails unless you have specifically signed up for them.
