Last summer I traveled to Switzerland and Italy! I’ve been longing to share my experience with you all because those two weeks were truly some of the best of my entire life. I got to explore various cantons in Switzerland and roam around the beautiful city of Milan. But I have to say, my favorite part of the trip was my time spent in the land of milk chocolate – Switzerland!
The stunning Swiss Alps with their snow-capped peaks, clear lakes, and green meadows had me completely mesmerized and inspired. It’s easily my top travel destination now! And there’s so much more to love about Switzerland – keep reading to find out why I was so impressed by this amazing country!
Switzerland is Filled with Natural Beauty

You may have seen photos online but I’m here to tell you that Switzerland is even more exquisite in person! There’s an abundance of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and outdoor adventures that are just waiting to be explored. The Swiss Alps are a world-renowned destination that offers some of the most breathtaking views in the world.
You’ll be in awe of the snow-capped peaks of these majestic mountains, towering at over 4,000 meters, and the glaciers nestled between them. It’s a unique opportunity to witness the raw power of nature.

The Swiss Transportation System is Remarkable

I was stunned by the efficiency of the Swiss transportation system. It’s honestly one of the best in the world! As a traveler, you can hop onto trains, trams, buses, or boats to explore the diverse regions of Switzerland with ease.
Passengers waiting at stations form orderly queues and don’t enter until those onboard have gotten off, demonstrating respect for others’ time and personal space. And the best part? You’ll always get to your destination on time because the punctuality is astounding.
If you’re traveling by train, you’ll love that they’re modern, clean, and comfortable. The same applies to the trams and buses which are ideal if you’re on a budget and are available in most cities and towns. But if you’re like me and love a scenic view, you should also take a boat ride on one of Switzerland’s many lakes or rivers like the Limmat and Lake Zurich. You’ll get to see the majestic Alps or the lakeside towns and bask in the beauty of Switzerland’s landscapes.

The Swiss are Orderly, Clean, and Polite
Switzerland is renowned for its respectful and organized way of life, which is reflected in the behavior of the Swiss people. They are incredibly polite, and this is deeply ingrained in their culture. A woman once walked up to me and my partner and sweetly offered to take a photo of us after she realized we had been using a seat to hold the phone up.
They tend to treat their neighbors, colleagues, and even strangers with utmost respect and consideration. However, they also value privacy, so it’s not common for strangers to strike up random conversations.
The Swiss people take great pride in their environment, too. They prioritize cleanliness and organization, and you’ll rarely to never see any garbage on the streets. All in all, Switzerland is a place where courtesy and consideration for others are highly valued, making it a friendly and welcoming destination for visitors.
Switzerland Has the Best Chocolate

Switzerland is home to some of the most amazing chocolate in the world. Swiss chocolatiers have a rich history of making high-quality chocolate with the utmost care and the finest ingredients. Their dedication to perfection creates a diverse range of flavors and textures that can suit any palate.
I can’t get enough of their Lindt milk chocolate. It’s just so delicious and melts in your mouth! I even brought some back home for my family and coworkers, and they all fell in love with it too! And guess what? I even got the chance to visit the factory where they make these amazing chocolates.
